Hippocratic Oath for MBAs and professionals
I think having the Hippocratic Oath provides interesting elements to guide the way many professionals can act. Some time ago on the blog a fellow MBA (http://juangabrielcendales.com) discussed how sometimes the good guys gone bad. Educated and trained in the best business schools in the world, managers of large corporations and engineers with expertise, that their choices (sometimes successful and sometimes not) can affect things like the global economy, savings and pensions of thousands of people, the stability of enterprises and whole society.
The fact make a decision and it was right or wrong, is not being tried. What is to analyze carefully, is that the desicion is conditioned by a propósito diferente a algo correcto.
Sometimes we forget that there is always something beyond what is possible and what is not possible, of legal and illegal, good and evil, values, and what the end sums it up as a tool for decision making - "Putting yourself in the shoes of another." Think
that has happened when someone with training, knowledge, business contacts, emotional intelligence, and other skills are used for a purpose not Transcendental. (Major responsibilities with third parties?). I think good stop a minute to think what the purpose of all of us here and we are studying. I believe we can all change a little our environment, especially if we realize that we must first change ourselves. Ahi
I leave the text of the Pledge to reflect.
I swear by Apollo Physician and Asclepius and Hygeia and Panacea and by all the gods and goddesses, making them judges, that my oath will be fulfilled as far as having power and discernment. To the one who taught me this art, she considers the same as my parents, he will participate in my upkeep and if you want part of my estate. Look upon his children as my brothers, teaching the art without charging anything, if they want to learn.
will instruct by precept, by speech and in all other ways, my children, the children of that taught me me and the disciples bound by oath and stipulation, according to medical law, and not to others.
will carry out the scheme, which according to my power and insight will benefit the sick and they depart from prejudice and terror. No one will give a deadly drug even though I requested, nor give advice to this end. Similarly, do not give any woman an abortifacient pessaries. Shall spend my life and my art in the innocence and purity.
not cut anyone or even to the calculations, making way for those working in the practice. In any house you enter, go for the benefit of the sick, refraining from all voluntary error and corruption, and lust with women or free men or slaves.
will keep silent about all that in my profession or outside it, hear or see in the lives of men who should not be public, I will keep so that you can not talk about them.
Now, if I fulfill this oath and do not break it, that the fruits of life and art are mine, which is always honored by all men and that the opposite happens if I'm hogging and perjury.
